Delete your data

Last updated

You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time. It takes one email.

If you signed in with Google

Open Settings and click Delete my data. It deletes your account, your connected Google Ads accounts, every scan and report, and your waitlist sign-ups straight away. It also asks Google to remove our access.

To stop our access without deleting anything, click Disconnect Google Ads in Settings instead. You can also remove SpendCanary in your Google Account under Security → Third-party apps and services.

Ask us to delete your data

Email support@spendcanary.com from the address you used with us, with the subject “Delete my data”. If you have a report link, include it; it helps us find your scans quickly.

We will delete:

  • every scan and report linked to your email, with all of its findings,
  • your email address and business description,
  • your waitlist sign-ups.

We’ll confirm by email once it’s done, within 7 days. Emails we already sent may stay in our email provider’s delivery logs for a short time, as their own retention policy sets.

Remove the script from Google Ads

The script stays in your Google Ads account until you remove it. It can’t do anything after the scan: its one-time code stops working once used, and it never runs on its own unless you schedule it.

  1. In Google Ads, open Tools, then Bulk actions, then Scripts. (If you can’t find it, search for “Scripts” in the Google Ads search bar.)
  2. Find the SpendCanary script.
  3. Remove it.

Revoke the access you gave the script

When you authorized the script, Google recorded that permission on your Google Account. To revoke it:

  1. Go to your Google Account’s Security page.
  2. Open Third-party apps and services (it may be called “Third-party access”).
  3. Find the Google Ads script entry and remove its access.
