SpendCanary vs NotFair

By SpendCanary team · Updated · Prices checked

NotFair connects your ad accounts to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, so you can ask questions and approve changes in chat. It has a free plan, and its Growth plan costs $99 a month or $950 a year. SpendCanary is a read-only watchdog for one Google Ads account: the scan is free, and Watch costs $19 a month or $190 a year. If you want an assistant that makes changes across several ad platforms, NotFair fits better. If you want something that checks your Google Ads every day on its own and emails you what it finds, SpendCanary does that.

When NotFair is the better choice

  • You want changes made, not just found. NotFair says its Google Ads connector can create campaigns and ad groups, add and pause keywords, adjust bids and budgets, manage negative keyword lists and edit responsive search ads. Each change waits for your approval. SpendCanary’s one-click fixes are coming soon and aren’t available yet.
  • You advertise on more than Google. NotFair lists connectors for Google, Meta, X, LinkedIn, Reddit and TikTok ads, plus Search Console, Google Analytics, WordPress and GoHighLevel. SpendCanary works with Google Ads only.
  • You like working in chat. If you already use Claude, ChatGPT, Codex or Cursor, NotFair lets you ask open questions about your account and get answers from live data.
  • You manage several accounts or need bulk edits. Growth includes 5 shared ad-account spots, with more at $10 a month each, and bulk workflows for keywords, ads, budgets and scripts. Watch covers one account and doesn’t edit anything.
  • You want a change log with undo. NotFair says every write is logged, and common status, bid, budget and keyword changes keep their previous value so they can be reversed.

When SpendCanary is the better choice

  • You want checks that run without you asking. Watch checks your account every day and sends instant alerts for spend spikes, broken tracking and new big leaks, plus a weekly plain-English email. You don’t need to open a chat or think of the right question.
  • You want a check that can’t change anything. SpendCanary only reads your account. There’s nothing to approve and nothing to undo.
  • You don’t use an AI assistant. SpendCanary works on its own. NotFair’s pricing page says subscriptions to AI clients such as Claude, Codex and Cursor are separate.
  • You want a fixed checklist with a dollar figure on each leak. The scan checks search partners, Display inside Search campaigns, Performance Max spend drifting to YouTube and Display, clicks from outside your target area, irrelevant search terms, broken or inflated conversion tracking, Maximize Clicks bidding, targets held back by budget, automatically created assets, changes by auto-applied recommendations, and landing pages. Each finding gets a monthly dollar estimate and a plain-English fix.
  • You want the lower monthly price. Watch is $19 a month. NotFair’s free plan costs nothing, and its Growth plan is $99 a month billed monthly.

Using both

The two can work side by side. SpendCanary only reads your account, so it won’t conflict with changes you approve in NotFair. Run the scan to see which leaks cost the most. Then decide whether to fix them yourself in Google Ads or ask your AI assistant to do it. The next scan shows whether the leak is gone.
