Optmyzr alternatives for small businesses
By SpendCanary team · Updated · Prices checked
Optmyzr is a PPC management toolkit for agencies, freelancers and in-house teams, with prices that rise with your monthly ad spend and start at $209 a month. SpendCanary is a read-only watchdog for one small-business Google Ads account, with a free scan and a $19 a month plan. If you manage many accounts, several ad platforms or large budgets, Optmyzr is the better fit. If you run your own Google Ads and want to know where money is leaking, a smaller tool may be all you need.

When Optmyzr is the better choice
Optmyzr fits better in these cases:
- You manage accounts for clients. The Essentials plan covers up to 25 accounts at the lower spend levels, and Enterprise offers unlimited accounts under a fair usage policy. SpendCanary Watch covers one account.
- You advertise on more than Google. Optmyzr lists tools for Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok ads. SpendCanary works with Google Ads only.
- You want automation you control. Optmyzr’s Rule Engine lets you build your own automated rules, and the site offers scripts that need no coding. Premium adds daily automations.
- You make changes in bulk. Optmyzr lets you update ad text, product feeds and campaign settings without opening Google Ads. SpendCanary does not edit anything.
- You run Shopping or Performance Max at scale. Shopping and Performance Max retail campaign management is part of the Premium plan.
- You spend a lot. Optmyzr’s prices are set by monthly ad spend, with tiers up to $500,000 and custom plans above that.
Optmyzr’s site pitches it to paid search freelancers, consultants, agencies and in-house teams. If that is you, it is worth a trial.
When SpendCanary is the better choice
SpendCanary fits better when:
- You run one Google Ads account for your own business. Watch costs $19 a month, or $190 a year.
- You don’t want to learn a new tool. There are no rules to set up. SpendCanary checks your account and tells you, in plain English, what is wrong and what it costs.
- You want to start without signing up. The free scan is a short, read-only script you run in your own Google Ads account. No sign-in, no card. The report arrives by email in about two minutes.
- You want a dollar figure on each problem. Every leak comes with an estimate of what it costs you a month.
- You want common small-business leaks caught. The scan checks search partners, Display ads inside Search campaigns, Performance Max spend drifting to YouTube and Display, clicks from outside your target area, irrelevant search terms, broken or inflated conversion tracking, Maximize Clicks bidding, target cost per acquisition or target return on ad spend limited by budget, automatically created assets, changes made by auto-applied recommendations, and landing pages that are broken, slow, have no contact details or don’t match the ad.
- You want nothing to change without you. SpendCanary only reads your account.

Using both
Optmyzr and SpendCanary do different jobs, so some people use both: Optmyzr to manage and change campaigns, and the free SpendCanary scan as a second opinion on settings that quietly cost money. If neither fits, you can work through our Google Ads audit checklist yourself, or read our Opteo comparison for another management tool.
